Meet the Youth Eating Disorder Recovery Team

Elizabeth Gullaher, RD, MHSc, BSc (she/her)
Care Director
Elizabeth has worked in the field of eating disorder recovery for well over a decade. She has supported youth and adults with eating disorders, as well as parents/carers involved in the recovery process. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient eating disorder public system programs, supporting individuals of all ages. She has worked with hundreds of individuals with various types of eating disorders, including AN, BN, ARFID, OSFED and long-standing or severe and enduring eating disorders (SEED). She continues to act as a mentor for other dietitians in this field, and works closely with medical professionals providing education and guidance in their support of clients with eating disorders.
Through her professional experience, Elizabeth has seen how important early intervention is in eating disorder recovery. Elizabeth is passionate about helping others – this passion and her experience are evident in her practice and interactions with clients. Her caring and dedicated approach encourages a comfortable, supportive environment for the youth she works with and the parents/carers involved in the journey.

Marisa Salon, RD, BSc (she/her)
Registered Dietitian
Nutrition Counselling and Support
Marisa is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Marisa received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at the University of Alberta and completed her dietetic internship with Alberta Health Services.
Marisa has years of experience working as a dietitian for the Calgary Eating Disorders Program as well a variety of inpatient units and outpatient clinics including mental health, neurology, and chronic disease.
During Marisa’s time with the Calgary Eating Disorders Program she was part of the inpatient team providing group and individual counselling. She also had the opportunity to work in the day treatment program and outpatient clinic. Her practice is family based treatment (FBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed.
Marisa has a weight inclusive approach and provides a safe space for 2SLGBTQI individuals. Marisa aims to form a therapeutic alliance with her clients to help them on their journey to recovery. She believes that everyone can achieve a healthy relationship with food and with their body, and that everyone deserves food freedom.
Marisa has two young children and is happily raising them in her home province of British Columbia. She is also a skating coach and hopes to foster a love of the sport in her students leading to life long participation. Marisa enjoys the many outdoor activities BC has to offer in her free time.

Lisa Ciotoli, RD, BASc (she/her)
Registered Dietitian
Nutrition Counselling and Support
Lisa is a Registered Dietitian dedicated to helping families navigate the challenges of picky eating, disordered eating and eating disorders, including Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). With over 15 years of experience, Lisa has worked extensively in clinical, community, and public health settings. After earning her Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition and Food from Ryerson University in Toronto, she completed her dietetic internship with the Southeastern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program and received certification in Food Security.
Lisa’s expertise also includes chronic disease management, prenatal & infant nutrition and disordered eating. She is passionate about supporting families with practical meal planning strategies that fit into busy lifestyles, creating stress-free mealtimes, and fostering positive food relationships. Lisa’s compassionate approach empowers clients and their parents to achieve their goals in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.

Shelleena Hackett, RSW (she/her)
Therapist
Mental Health Counselling and Support - Youth, Couples and Families
Shelleena provides support for youth recovering from eating disorders, as well as helps couples and families navigate the challenges the arise as a results of this journey.
Shelleena holds a Bachelor’s of Arts (BA) with focus in Sociology from the University of Guelph. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Masters of Social Work (MSW), both from Ryerson University and she is registered with the BC College of Social Workers.
Shelleena started her career working within Mental Health agencies that supported people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental and intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injuries. Next, Shelleena spent time working within a fostering agency and closely with families touched by this experience.
Shelleena comes from a social work background and therefore has less of a clinical lens and more of a holistic one. She has a critical understanding of societal and systemic issues and the barriers they create, by using an Anti-Oppressive Perspective, guided by a queer lens. She sees therapy as a conversation with purpose that is an opportunity for growth and self-discovery. She has a relaxed and warm energy, is non-judgemental and creates a safe and uplifting environment. Shelleena uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Narrative Therapy, Strength-based perspectives, Trauma Informed and Talk Therapy) and continues to expand.
