Kamila Gabitova, RD, BSc
Kamila is a registered dietitian, who completed her Dietetics degree with honours from the University of British Columbia. She did her practice education at Vancouver Coastal Health gaining knowledge and experience in hospitalist medicine, long-term care, thoracic surgery, ear nose and throat surgeries, spine program, and hemodialysis units at Vancouver General Hospital.
Upon completion of her internship, Kamila worked for BC Cancer, and Fraser Health covering long-term care facilities and various acute medicine units including cardiac, general medicine, and emergency units where she helped individuals at their most vulnerable times meet their nutritional requirements for healing and recovery. Her passion for education led her to work at
Diabetes clinics across the lower mainland where she ran classes on healthy eating and used the latest resources from Diabetes Canada to allow her patients to achieve the best blood sugar control and health.
One of Kamila’s greatest passions is helping people of various ages establish a healthy relationship with food using a non-diet approach and practicing from a weight-neutral lens. Kamila believes that we all come in different sizes and shapes and that it is crucial to focus on our health rather than weight to achieve optimal energy levels, longevity, and overall well-being. During her elective placement with the eating disorders program at St. Paul’s Hospital and her work as a clinical dietitian at Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, Kamila learned effective counselling skills that helped clients struggling with body image, eating behaviours and mental health establish a positive relationship with food in a way that allowed them to meet their nutrition requirements and set them on a road to recovery. Kamila believes that every person is unique and requires an individual approach to achieve their goals and optimal health. Kamila will meet you where you are and make nutritional counselling fun and engaging by relating it to what matters most to you. She will create easy, yet delicious meal plans that will help you achieve your health goals by implementing complex nutritional recommendations into simple steps that are easy to follow in everyday life.
Kamila makes nutrition fun, easy, and relatable. She works with you to help you achieve the goals that matter most to you by completing a detailed nutritional assessment, determining your needs, and establishing achievable goals. She is focused on providing client-centered quality care and takes pride in establishing long-term relationships with her clients built on trust, compassion, and respect.
