After completing her undergraduate degree with honours in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph, Emma completed a dietetic internship and practicum training program with the Nova Scotia Health Central Zone at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospitals and IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She gained valuable clinical experience for adults, in the areas of Medicine and Surgery, Critical Care, Eating Disorders, Diabetes, Cardiology, Oncology, Dysphagia. As well, she received clinical experience in Pediatrics, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Neurodevelopment and Rehabilitation Clinic (including working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder), Medicine, and Outpatient Pediatric Clinic.
After completing her internship in Nova Scotia, Emma returned home to British Columbia and started working for Vancouver Coastal Health in Acute Care. Her experience solidified her competence to perform Restricted Activities A, B and C with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
Through her clinical experience, Emma has witnessed first-hand how nutritional interventions have the potential to improve health outcomes and change lives. Emma’s goal is to support you in taking small steps that make a big difference in your life. Through a weight-inclusive, compassionate, and evidence-based approach, Emma ensures clients feel heard and respected in their counselling sessions. Emma has a diverse and well-rounded clinical experience, with her two greatest passions being working with children and working with individuals with an eating disorder. She feels honoured to be a pillar of support for you and your journey to wellness.
