Why work with a Therapist?

Evidence Based Practice.

Psychotherapy or Counselling Therapy is primarily a talk-based therapy and is meant to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being. Therapists will also use evidence-based practice, where decisions about mental health care and treatment are based on the best available, current, valid, and relevant research while also considering the needs and preferences of the client as well as the clinical expertise of the therapist. Individuals might seek out psychotherapy or counselling when they have thoughts, feelings, moods, and behaviours that are negatively affecting their quality of life, relationships, and their ability to function.

If you live in British Columbia, make sure you check with your extended health benefits plan to see if Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) is covered.

If you live in Ontario, make sure you check with your extended health benefits plan to see if Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) is covered.
